Youth charged for firearm on city bus
Saskatoon police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy for having a gun on a city bus.
On Monday around 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a weapons call on the bus, driving westbound on 22nd Street West. Police were told a man on the bus had a firearm, according to a police news release on Tuesday.
The bus was found in the 1600 block of that street and a person matching the suspect’s description was arrested by officers without incident.
By searching the area, officers found a firearm underneath a seat near where the teen was arrested.
The 16-year-old now faces multiple firearms-related charges. He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 24.
