A 17-year-old boy is facing a murder charge in connection with a shooting death on Saturday.
According to police, officers were called to the 900 block of 22nd Street West shortly after midnight, where they found a a 49-year-old Saskatoon man suffering from a gunshot wound.

“The male was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
The victim was not identified by police, but the police force noted that the shooting death marked the city’s second homicide investigation of the year.
Police announced the teen’s arrest on Tuesday.
He’s facing charges of second-degree murder, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence and possessing a firearm while prohibited, police said.
