Two police incidents over the weekend led to charges laid against six people and involved the Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit.
Around 4 p.m. on March 6, officers on patrol saw a stolen vehicle driving southbound on Idylwyld Drive from 38th Street West.

The information was shared with the Air Support Unit, which began to follow the white Toyota Corolla until it reached Alberta Avenue and 36th Street, where the driver exited the vehicle and ran away. Officers watched a passenger get into the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which continued on to a parking lot at 33rd Street and Idylwyld Drive, according to a release from police.
Patrol officers arrested three people there, and the fourth person – the suspect who had fled on foot – was also found and arrested.
Those arrested included two men, aged 26 and 28, and two women, both 26 years old. Combined, the four people face 17 charges.
Another stolen vehicle flees police
On March 9, a black Kia Soul was seen travelling on 22nd Street West near Confederation Drive around 3:45 a.m.
Saskatoon Police confirmed the vehicle was stolen and officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, but was located by the police plane. It parked in a back alley in the 400 block of Avenue W North, where three people exited the vehicle and went into a garage.
Two women walked to the front of a house, where police officers took them into custody. A third person, a 24-year-old man, went into the home and was found hiding in a bedroom.
Two people were charged, including a 32-year-old woman for possession of methamphetamine and a 24-year-old man with break and enter. The second female was released without charges.
Weekend shooting leaves man injured
A 35-year-old man with non-life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound was taken to hospital on Sun, March 8 after police responded to a shooting near Circle Drive and Preston Avenue South.
Officers received report of the incident just after 3:30 a.m.
The injured man was found on the road when police arrived at the scene and was taken to hospital.
Police said investigation showed that the victim and another man had a confrontation, which escalated when the suspect allegedly shot the victim. The suspect then ran away, according to a police news release.
The suspect was later found when Saskatoon police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 1100 block of Baltzan Boulevard and found the suspect involved in a shooting outside, police allege.
Police have charged the suspect, an 18-year-old man, with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent and breaching court-imposed conditions.
Monday: Six women rob liquor store and Saskatoon bus bear sprayed
Saskatoon police responded to a report of a robbery with weapons on Mon, March 9.
A report to police alleged six women with a machete and bear spray stole several bottles of alcohol from a store in the 100 block of Primrose Drive around 6:15 p.m.
Later that evening, around 8:15 p.m. on Monday evening, Saskatoon police responded to the 3700 block of Centennial Drive after learning of an altercation on a bus, which led to the use of the bear spray.
Officers found several people suffering from the effects of the spray on a Saskatoon Transit bus when they arrived on scene.
