Nobody was injured after a garage caught fire in Saskatoon’s Meadowgreen neighbourhood on Thursday morning.
Multiple fire engines and an ambulance were at the scene at the intersection of 20th Street West and Vancouver Avenue South shortly before 10 a.m.

The blaze created a massive plume of black smoke that was visible from the opposite side of the South Saskatchewan River.

The fire appeared to have completely destroyed the garage, but the home in front appeared to be largely intact.
The Saskatoon Fire Department said the fire was completely extinguished, and a search confirmed that there was nobody inside the structure.
“A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate,” the fire department said in a statement.
