The relocation of a “massive” log house and garage proceeded past Highway 1 on Wednesday morning, according to the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline.
The Ministry of Highways previously warned that a number of routes around the province will be impacted as the two buildings are moved about 200 kilometres from a spot near Lajord to a destination west of Strasbourg.

The move is scheduled to wrap up on Friday.
Kerry Neufeld, president of Neufeld Building Movers, said the structures are being moved in two pieces, with the largest being a log building about 60 feet wide, 80 feet long and close to 40 feet high.
Big move update! We just got word that the massive log house and garage just made it past highway 1 as of 9:28 a.m., March 4. To follow and stay updated on its location, select “over-dimensional loads” on the Highway Hotline. pic.twitter.com/x6F9ldbpn6

The move has been broken down into four segments, and Neufeld said his company is working with SaskPower to avoid lines along the way. He predicted that it will be “slow going,” with a few delays for traffic.
“We’re just asking everyone to be patient with us,” he said.
Neufeld recommended anyone who might be sharing a roadway with the oversized load to check the Highway Hotline for live updates on the routes affected by the move.
