A 16-year-old boy is being charged with manslaughter following a homicide in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band community of Bell’s Point.
La Ronge RCMP were called to a home in Bell’s Point at around 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 25 for a report of an injured person.
Upon arrival, officers immediately located an injured man, who later died at the scene. The victim’s name was not released but has been identified as a 38-year-old man from the La Ronge area.

Police then arrested the teenage boy roughly 20 minutes later at a different home in Bell’s Point.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit then took over the investigation and charged the boy with one count of manslaughter.
The boy cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and police are not releasing any further information about the victim.
The 16-year-old appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on Friday.
