Police in Saskatoon say a man who was charged with manslaughter in connection with a fatal stabbing earlier this month is now charged as an accessory to manslaughter instead.
According to police, two 25-year-old men seeking treatment for stab wounds arrived at St. Paul’s Hospital at around 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 3. Police said one of the men later died as a result of his injuries, while the other man was in stable condition.

On Feb. 7, police announced that an 18-year-old man had been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Those charges were reduced on Thursday, police said.
“On February 26, 2026, investigators attended to a correctional facility in Saskatoon and effected the arrest of an 18-year-old man previously charged with manslaughter in relation to a homicide investigation from February 3rd,” the police force said in a statement.
“He is now charged with accessory after the fact to manslaughter, accessory after the fact to aggravated assault, public mischief, and obstruction of justice. The charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault have been withdrawn.”
Police said the fatal stabbing remains under investigation.
