According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers got a report of a break-in in progress on the First Nation north of the Battlefords at around 1 p.m. on Thursday.

“Officers responded immediately and identified a suspect fleeing on foot up a hill in the distance,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Officers followed the suspect’s tracks in the snow. He was located and arrested at a nearby residence.”
Police said further investigation suggested that a second suspect was also inside the home. The officers returned to the scene, and a search of the home ended in the arrest of a second man, who police said was hiding inside a fridge.
The RCMP said one of the two men, age 26, is facing charges of attempting to break and enter with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments. The other man, age 24, was charged with two counts of attempting to break and enter with intent.
The 26-year-old was also wanted on warrants for failing to appear in court, possession of property obtained by crime, assault and weapons charges, the RCMP said.
Both men appeared in court in North Battleford on Monday.
