A man charged in an attack that left a victim injured on a Saskatchewan First Nation last month has been arrested.
According to a statement issued by the Saskatchewan RCMP on Wednesday, Lonnie Moosomin was arrested on Feb. 7 on the Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation, and is expected to appear in court in North Battleford on March 9.

Moosomin is facing an assault charge in connection with an incident on the same First Nation on Jan. 12. According to the RCMP, two men assaulted a victim at a home, leading to non-life-threatening injuries.
“One of the males then threatened occupants with a firearm and discharged it inside the residence,” the RCMP said in a previous statement. “No one reported physical injuries related to the firearm discharge.”
Police said a drone and police dog were used to track down one of the suspects, a 34-year-old man, who was arrested near the home where the alleged assault took place. He was charged with recklessly discharging a firearm, pointing a firearm, uttering threats, assault, resisting or obstructing police, possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition.
At the same time, the RCMP identified Moosomin as a suspect in the case and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
