Police in Saskatoon seized a huge quantity of illegal drugs on Thursday after making two arrests which led to SWAT team raids on four homes.
According to police, officers arrested a 22-year-old on Albert Avenue on Thursday afternoon and found he was carrying fentanyl, a powerful opioid drug. Officers also arrested a 20-year-old man on Tait Court.

Police said the SWAT team later raided homes on Albert Avenue and Tait Court, along with two other homes on Tucker Crescent and 112th Street West.
According to police, the searches turned up 1,954 grams of fentanyl, 5,514 grams of methamphetamine, 908 grams of cocaine and 10,250 millilitres of GHB. Officers also seized $33,965 in cash, forged drivers licences and “drug paraphernalia,” the police force added.
Both men are now facing eight counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, along with possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Officers also seized a pellet pistol and a butterfly knife, noting that both men were also charged with possession of an imitation weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.
