A year after two men and two women were killed on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, a fourth person is facing charges.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, a 67-year-old man was arrested at a home on the First Nation east of Regina on Wednesday. He’s been charged as an accessory to murder after the fact, and is expected to appear in court in Fort Qu’Appelle on Thursday, police said.

The arrest occurred exactly one year after the deaths were discovered.
On Feb. 4, 2025, officers with the File Hills First Nations Police Service found the four victims –Shauna Fey, Tracey Hotomani, Terry Jack and Sheldon Quewezance – after getting a report about sudden deaths at a home on the First Nation.
Later that month, an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested, and each was charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
On Dec. 10, police raided a home on the First Nation and arrested a 17-year-old boy. He was also charged with four counts of first-degree murder, along with an additional charge of attempted murder after the RCMP said investigators “determined an altercation occurred between the youth and a fifth individual at the residence.”
“Over the past twelve months, investigators ensured every lead was chased down and all avenues were explored, as they do with every file they take on,” inspector Ashley St. Germaine, of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Branch, said in a statement.
“The persistence and skill of our investigators drove this case forward. Ultimately, their commitment to meticulous investigative work allowed us to piece together the circumstances surrounding this case and give the victims’ families some answers.”
