Jacob Brammer emerged as one of the best offensive linemen in the CFL in 2025 — and the Saskatchewan Roughriders will bring him back for an encore.
The CFL club announced it has signed the right guard to a one-year contract extension.
Brammer, a 6’4″, 301-pound product of Richmond, Texas, helped solidify the right side of the offensive line, suiting up for 17 games at the spot. He helped the Riders finish tied for second-fewest sacks allowed (26) and led the way for running back A.J. Ouellette, who finished with the second-most rushing yards in the CFL (1,222).
He was recognized as a top offensive lineman in the CFL as he was named an All-CFLer for the first time in his career. Jermarcus Hardrick, who was positioned next to him at right tackle, was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.
The 26-year-old Brammer started both the Western Final and the Grey Cup. He helped protect quarterback Trevor Harris as he threw for 302 yards as the Riders claimed their fifth championship in team history.
Brammer made his CFL debut on July 19, 2024 and went on to play four more games that season as well as playoffs.
Before coming to the CFL, he played one season at Vanderbilt, where he started in 11 games. Prior to his time at Vanderbilt, Brammer spent four collegiate seasons (2018–21) at the University of North Texas. He played in 38 games (35 starts), primarily at right tackle.
Brammer was set to become a free agent on Feb. 10.
