Two men are dead following a collision on New Year’s Day south of Saskatoon.
The Saskatoon RCMP said it received a report of a collision involving a minivan and SUV on Highway 219 at about 3:25 a.m.

Both drivers were declared dead by paramedics at the scene, police said in a statement.
“They have been identified as a 28-year-old male from Wadena and a 58-year-old male from Saskatoon. Their families have been notified,” police said.
The Saskatchewan RCMP noted that neither vehicle was carrying passengers at the time of the crash.
During the initial investigation, the highway was closed, but it has since re-opened to traffic.
“Saskatoon RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist,” the Mounties said.
