WITH GUEST HOST BRENT LOUCKS
8:30 – Health-care workers and the NDP are sounding the alarm when it comes to overcapacity ERs at Sask. hospitals. Recently, both hospitals in Regina were near or more than 100 per cent capacity, with a very high safety risk. Saskatchewan Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill joins guest host Brent Loucks to explain what the province is doing to deal with this ongoing problem.
Listener Question: What does the government need to address now when it comes to healthcare?
9:00 – Open phones – Evan goes to the phones to chat with listeners about what’s on their minds today. Call 1-877-332-8255.
9:30 – A bit of Saskatchewan history is being told in a new song put together by Brad Wall, former premier of Saskatchewan, and Dan Cugnet, Weyburn area singer/songwriter, business leader and farmer. Constable Marmaduke Graburn is the only North West Mounted Police officer stationed at Fort Walsh to die in the line of duty. Using historical letters, Wall wrote the lyrics to a song that Cugnet helped him shape into a piece that he will now include on his next record. The two join Brent Loucks along with Terri Harris-Strunk, who sings on The Graburn Letters, to talk more about this project!
10:00 – It’s the most joyous and generous time of the year! Saskatchewan is full of amazing charities, non-profits and other organizations who work to take care of people who need it in our province and beyond. With the mail workers strike this year, it’s harder than normal for these organizations to receive the holiday support they need. Evan invites volunteers, employees and people generally enthusiastic about the charity of their choice to call in and shout out the charity that has your heart! Call 1-877-332-8255!
11:00 – It’s time for your annual tech check in, just in time for your holiday shopping! Tech expert, Marc Saltzman, joins Evan to run through some of this year’s biggest and best tech purchases.
LQ: What is the best toy or piece of tech you ever owned?
11:30 – What was your favourite toy or gadget to ever receive? In honour of Santa’s sleigh departing the North Pole to begin Christmas deliveries tomorrow, call Evan to share at 1-877-332-8255!
12:00 – Guest host Brent Loucks revisits his conversation with Jeremy Cockrill, Saskatchewan Health Minister.
