A bookkeeper from Cudworth who worked for a business in Saskatoon is facing charges of fraud and trafficking in proceeds of crime.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release on Dec. 19 that the 53-year-old woman was the subject of a “lengthy and complex” investigation by the force’s economic crime section.

SPS said officers first received a report on June 19, 2025, Saskatoon Police from the business owners who believed they had been defrauded of large sums.
Further investigation found that about $340,000 had been taken from business accounts for the woman’s personal expenses and significant purchases, including a Ford F-150, SPS said.
The woman has been charged with fraud over $5000 and trafficking in proceeds of crime over $5000 and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Jan. 28, 2026.
Edmonton man charged with theft and cocaine possession
A 40-year-old Edmonton man was arrested on Thursday as part of Project Shield, an SPS retail crime blitz.
SPS said in a news release on Dec. 19 that officers were were called to a business in the 2300 block of 8th Street East around 8 p.m. after being held by Loss Prevention Officers on suspicion of shoplifting.
SPS said they found the man had IDs belonging to other people and around three grams of cocaine on him.
Police said he provided false information, but officers also found the man was wanted on an arrest warrant in Edmonton.
The man is now facing charges of theft under $5,000, possession of cocaine, obstruction and breach of release order.
