Speed skaters will be able to start practising this winter season at Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval, located in the Gordie Howe Sports Complex, starting on Monday.

The oval, located on Dudley Street at Avenue R, features a 400-metre outdoor track. A warm-up building has change rooms, public washrooms and an area to lace up skates.
Visitors are required to bring their own skates, but speed skates are not specifically required.
Public skating hours run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, with evening hours running from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, the oval is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The facility is closed on Fridays.
