It doesn’t look like it outside quite yet, but Christmas is quickly approaching.
One holiday staple in Saskatoon is the Enchanted Forest at the Forestry Farm, next to St. Joseph High School. The drive- and walk-through display features more Christmas lights than the organizers can count.

The Enchanted Forest is a unique sight for all visitors, but for the Clark Griswolds of the world, it’s everything they could ever ask for and more.
The forest is a project of the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation.
Steve Shannon, CEO of the City Hospital Foundation, joined the CKOM Morning Show on Thursday to discuss the holiday wonder that garners a ton of attention in the Bridge City.

Shannon said it’s finally time for people to enjoy the forest, as it opens to the public on Thursday and Friday for walk-throughs.
“The BHP Enchanted Forest is ready to roll,” he said. “On Saturday, that’s when the cars show up for the entire duration.”
The gates open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets for the walking portion are $10 per person or $30 per family.

This is the 27th year for the Enchanted Forest, which has become a holiday staple for many people in Saskatoon. (Enchanted Forest)
“I’ll tell you, the walk through is absolutely incredible,” Shannon said. “Blue Cross, who is our number-one sponsor for the walk night, will have some hot chocolate (available).”
This is the 27th year for the Enchanted Forest, and the display will remain open until January 4.
This year’s forest will feature more lights than ever before, and Shannon said not many other Christmas displays in Canada can top it.
“I would say we’d be almost the best in Canada,” he said.
The forest is open from 5:30 pm to 10 pm every day, including Christmas Eve, Christmas night and New Year’s Eve.
Last year, more than 83,000 people visited the Enchanted Forest. The previous year, 93,440 visitors laid their eyes on the sparkling lights, setting the all-time attendance record for the Enchanted Forest.
