Scott Flory, Huskies head coach, joined the CKOM Morning Show to talk about the upcoming game.

“This is going to be the most physical game of the year,” he said. “I don’t know how similar or how different we really are… they’re going to be disciplined (and) they’re going to be structured.”
Flory said he expects his team to be in the playoffs every year.
“I think we’ve always been a high-level program. We pride ourselves on winning a bunch,” he said. “We knew this was going to be a pretty special group, led by fifth-year guys like Ryker Frank, Seth Hundeby, John Stoll and Daniel Wiebe.”
Huskies linebacker Seth Hundeby joined the Green Zone to outline what should be an intense Hardy Cup final.

“Anytime you get to play the Rams… they always put up a good game,” he said. “It’s always a fun time, I think it’ll be a good game for sure.”
Hundeby said he expects it to be a very close game that will have fans on the edge of their seats.
“We have played against the Rams a few times,” he said. “(They’ve) always had a scrappy team that punches above their weight… they’re well coached, lots of athletes so I think we’re going to match up well and it’s going to be an absolute grind.”
The Rams have dealt with some injury issues this season, but Hundeby said it doesn’t appear to have hindered them.
“They have a very similar mentality as I’m sure a lot of teams have, just that next guy up mentality,” he said. “If (Marshall) Erichsen isn’t able to play, that’s really unfortunate, but if Christian Katende would be in, he’s a really good running back (too).”
As for where Hundeby thinks the Huskies will see the most success, he believes it will come from the defensive side of the ball.
“We have a really good, solid defence, I think that we really come together as a whole,” he said.
“Everyone’s flying to the ball and they’re looking to lay a big hit and defensively that’s a good mentality.”
Hundeby also said the Huskies’ ground game has taken off to another level.
“Offensively, we have a lot of playmakers and a lot of veterans,” he said. “Jake Farrell stepped up; he’s found out that he has some legs under him.”
Rams receiver Nick Sirleaf also joined the Green Zone show to talk about the highly anticipated Hardy Cup.
Listen here for the full interview:
Sirleaf said he’s enjoyed being a part of the Saskatoon and Regina rivalry.
“It was always crazy, but now that we’re doing it on probably the biggest stage of Canada West, (it) just becomes even bigger,” he said. “It’s such a crazy moment and an awesome moment to be a part of.”
Sirleaf said he’s glad to be lining up against the University of Saskatchewan.
“I’m happy it’s the Huskies,” he said. “Obviously, if it were anybody, regardless, the same memo would be to just go out there and dominate.”
Sirleaf said the defence will make for a difficult day on offence for him.
“I’m up against a strong defence,” he said. “They have good linebackers like Hundeby to beat, but honestly, I feel like if we stick to what we’re best at as an offence… We’ll win the game.”
Kick off is at 2 p.m. at Griffith Stadium in Saskatoon.
