A 75-year-old taxi driver was allegedly hit with his own cab during an attempted robbery on Tuesday night.
According to police, officers responded to a call about a robbery in progress in a motel parking lot on Circle Drive West at around 5:15 p.m. Police said a female passenger was seen assaulting a cab driver and trying to steal his vehicle. The woman then climbed into the driver’s seat and struck the cabbie with his own vehicle while trying to flee, police said.

Both the victim and the alleged assailant were gone by the time police arrived, but the 75-year-old victim later returned to the scene. Police said he was not seriously injured in the alleged attack.
“A female matching the suspect description was apprehended in the 2000 block of Avenue B North and taken into custody,” the police force said.
“The 30-year-old is charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Driving, Obstruction, and breach of court-imposed conditions.”
Man and boy arrested after allegedly pointing gun during robbery
An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy are facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a man during a robbery on Tuesday night.
Police said officers in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue H South were flagged down by a man who said two other people had just attempted to rob him.
“Police located two persons matching the suspect description nearby and, upon being taken into custody, were found to be in possession of a shotgun, a machete, and a knife,” the police force said in a statement.
The 18-year-old man is now facing charges of pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breaching court-ordered conditions.
The boy was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breaching court-ordered conditions, police said.
