A 37-year-old man is facing charges after a crash that left Saskatoon’s University Bridge closed on Wednesday morning.
Police said numerous calls started to come in at around 8:45 a.m., reporting a driver in a black vehicle who was “driving erratically, in the wrong lanes of travel, and disobeying traffic signals.”

An officer caught up with the vehicle on Seventh Avenue North, police said, but the driver took off at high speeds, ultimately colliding with a truck on the bridge.
The crash, which happened shortly before 9:30 a.m., left the bridge closed in both directions, though the span has since been reopened to traffic.
The 37-year-old driver is now facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving and evading police, the Saskatoon Police Service said.
Meanwhile, the Broadway Bridge remains closed due to an ongoing construction project. The bridge rehabilitation, which began in May, is expected to wrap up this month.
