The center told 980 CJME that no veterinarians with the would comment on the situation at this time.
The clinic encouraged people to contact a veterinarian if their pet has been in contact with a bat.
Bat encounters raise concerns in Saskatchewan
The Saskatchewan Health Authority issued a warning about an increase in bat bites and scratches last month, with more people trying to capture the creatures in the province.
Dr. Simon Kapaj said bats carry various infections, including rabies, a serious virus that can be fatal.
“If you suspect you or your child have been bitten, scratched, or have been sleeping with a bat in your room, seek medical care and rabies shots will be provided if appropriate,” he said.
In September, the City of Warman issued a warning that a dead bat infected with rabies was found. Nobody was hurt or injured.
A Martensville resident was vaccinated against rabies as a precaution after being bitten in the neck by a bat.
According to the Government of Canada Rabies Monitoring website, only two rabies cases resulted in death since 1924.
