The Saskatoon Airport was busy with more than just boarding passengers Monday morning.
The city’s fire department was called to the airport following reports of smoke on an airplane parked at its gate, waiting to depart.

In an email from the Saskatoon Fire Department, it said the airport fire crews had called for a major incident at 11:32 a.m.
The incident was then cancelled only seven minutes later.
The Saskatoon Airport Authority told CKOM in an email that no injuries were reported and that airport operations were not impacted because of the emergency.

The airport said the plane had just finished the boarding process and was waiting to depart the gate for takeoff when the potential smoke was reported.
A representative of the airport said calls for mutual aid when an emergency is declared is standard procedure.
“This is done regardless of whether the event is deemed to be minor or major,” the statement read.
A full inspection was done following the incident, deeming the plane safe for passengers and travel.
After the aircraft was declared safe, it departed from its gate and took off after a short delay, according to the airport.
