Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) has assigned an arson investigator to investigate a serious of suspicious vehicle fires that occurred in the city this week.
SPS said in a news release that no one was injured in the blazes, which all happened on Friday. Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department extinguished all the fires.

Officers were first called around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 5 to the 1700 block of Saskatchewan Avenue, where they found four vehicles on fire.
Then, just after 4 a.m., police were called to the 500 block of Rusholme Road where a single vehicle was on fire, and around the same time SPS received another report of a single vehicle on fire in the 300 block of Avenue G North. SPS said that officers there unsuccessfully used a police dog in an attempt to locate a suspect.
Finally, around 5 a.m. officers were called to the 1100 block of Avenue C North for a report of another vehicle on fire.
Police said that tow trucks were required to remove several of the burnt vehicles, and their investigator is working with a fire investigator from the Saskatoon Fire Department.
