Thunder head coach Scott MacAulay said it’s always his favourite home game of the season, as players’ passion and enthusiasm is on full display.
“This is widely considered the most heated rivalry in junior football,” MacAulay said in a statement. “With first place and provincial bragging rights on the line, we’ll be ready.”
The Thunder are undefeated so far in the 2025 season, with a 3-0 record so far this season, while the Hilltops are close behind with a 2-1 record, tied with the Winnipeg Rifles.
Players and coaches from the Regina Youth Flag Football League were invited to attend Saturday’s game for free if they wear their team’s jerseys, and donations for the local food bank will also be collected. Fans who bring a donation will be entered to win Co-op gift cards or Keith Urban concert tickets.
“We’re always excited to welcome our provincial rivals to Mosaic Stadium,” added Thunder president Murad Al-Katib.
“The real winners will be Saskatchewan football fans, who get to see the top two teams in the PFC and some potential future CFL stars.”
Tickets for the game can be purchased at the gate or through the Regina Thunder’s website.
