A 12-year-old girl is facing assault and weapons charges after allegedly threatening an 11-year-old boy with a knife.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, officers were called to a park on Campion Crescent, in the city’s College Park neighbourhood, at around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Witnesses reported seeing the girl threaten an 11 year old boy with a knife, before the boy was able to flee,” the police force explained in a statement.
“Officers located the girl at a nearby home where she was found to be in possession of a knife.”
The girl has been charged with assault with a weapon, police said, along with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
“The accused and victim are known to each other,” police noted.
“No one was physically injured during the incident.”
Police did not name the park where the incident allegedly took place, but the address given corresponds with Dr. Gerhard Herzberg Park North.
