Regina Police Service (RPS) had to call on the services of their eye in the sky on Monday night to help track a vehicle they said was being driven dangerously through the city.
RPS said in a news release on Aug. 5 that officers in the police plane saw the driver disobeying traffic signals, nearly hitting a number of other vehicles, and almost hitting a child on a bicycle while travelling at speeds of 100 km/h in residential areas.

Police said the chase ended in a 30-year-old man arrested on a number of charges, including drug trafficking, fraud, and impaired driving, and began when a patrol was sent to the Arcola East neighbourhood around 7:30 p.m. after the driver was reported.
RPS said that while the officers were en route, the plane zeroed in on the vehicle, which had been reported in the 3700 block of Chuka Boulevard, and told police on the ground the vehicle was being driven away from the area and swerving as it drove down the road, narrowly avoiding parked vehicles and oncoming traffic.
A ground patrol managed to stop the vehicle and found two people in it, RPS said, adding that the driver was showing signs of impairment and provided fraudulent identification.
Police said the driver was asked to step out of the vehicle on a number of occasions but refused before driving off at high speed.
RPS said the plane then followed the vehicle through the east end of the city, before it finally came to a stop near the 1400 block of Grosvenor Street, where both people in it ran away.
Officers in the plane then directed those on the ground to their location near Dewdney Avenue and the Ring Road.
After a short foot chase, they were taken into custody, and RPS said 219 grams of methamphetamine, a small quantity of cocaine, cash, and a pocket knife was found on the driver.
The 30-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, obstruction, resisting arrest, identity fraud with the intent to avoid arrest, dangerous driving, impaired driving and driving while prohibited
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday.
