Saskatchewan RCMP found about half a million illegal cigarettes, illegal cannabis, and cocaine a vehicle during a traffic stop on July 15.
RCMP said in a news release on July 28 that a 63-year-old woman was stopped by Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers doing proactive patrols on Highway 1 near Swift Current around 1 p.m.
She told investigators she was travelling from Alberta to Saskatchewan, and was arrested at the scene. Police said they found about 500,000 illegal cigarettes, around five kilograms of illegal cannabis, and about 292 grams of cocaine inside her vehicle.
The woman has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, transporting unstamped tobacco product, and possession for the purpose of distributing and is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on Sept. 17.
