A 22-year-old Meadow Lake man is facing charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle, dragging and injuring person who was trying to stop the theft in the process.
According to police, officers were called to the area of Avenue C North and 39th Street West at around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

“Upon arrival to the area, officers learned that a man had been dragged by a vehicle while attempting to stop it from being stolen; in the process, the vehicle struck multiple uninvolved parked vehicles before the suspect struck another vehicle in the 1700 block of Avenue G North and fled on foot,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
The suspect was found in the 1200 block of Avenue J North soon after the incident, police said, and he was arrested after what the police force described as a “brief struggle.”
He’s now facing charges of robbery, dangerous driving and mischief under $5,000.
