Man who lit homeless woman on fire in P.A. has release revoked

The Parole Board of Canada has revoked the statutory release of a man who lit a homeless woman on fire in Saskatchewan.

Leslie Black was sentenced to 16 years for attempted murder in the 2014 bludgeoning, burning and sexual assault of Marlene Bird in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

Bird lost much of her eyesight and had both of her legs amputated after the attack.

Black was given statutory release earlier this year, but the board says the 39-year-old violated his conditions by using drugs the morning he was released from prison.
