Police in Saskatoon responded to two calls separate involving machetes on Tuesday.
In the first incident, officers were called to Avenue V South at around 9:30 a.m. after getting a report that two men were fighting. According to police, the report indicated that one man was armed with a machete while the other one was pointing a firearm.

Both men were arrested when police arrived, and officers seized an imitaiton gun and two “bladed weapons.”
“One of the men had been cut by the machete and was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment,” the police force said in a statement.
“The altercation is believed to have begun over a property transaction.”
As a result, a 64-year-old man is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for the purpose of an offence, while a 25-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized carrying of a concealed weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
In the second incident on Tuesday, officers were called to Avenue Q South at around 9 p.m. after getting a report of an armed group.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a female who was armed with a machete,” police said.
“As she was taken into custody several males at the scene fled on foot. One of them was seen to be carrying a handgun. Officers were not able to locate them.”
The 24-year-old woman was also carrying bear spray at the time of her arrest, police said, and she’s now facing two charges of possession of a dangerous weapon.
