A train sparked a large grass fire on Circle Drive on Monday evening.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the blaze was caused by a CN train that was heading south.
The fire stretched between 33rd Street West and 22nd Street West, the fire department said, and was moving quickly towards the sound barrier on Circle when firefighters arrived shortly after 6 p.m.

“Firefighters used multiple hose lines to rapidly apply water to the fire burning along the train tracks and brush trucks drove along the ditch to extinguish telecommunication poles and trees,” the fire department said in a statement.
