If weather permits — seeding could be done as early as next week, according to most producers. In Saskatchewan, seeding is now at 88 per cent completed.
The provincial Crop Report said, “Producers are also busy moving cattle to pasture, spraying and land rolling,” and reports of grasshoppers hatching have been received.
Some crops experienced minor damage from hot, dry and windy weather, in addition to some areas experiencing frost and flooding. Some producers are taking measures to control Flea beetles, wireworms and cutworms.
