The officers had been called around 3:45 a.m. on May 3 to the area of 2nd Avenue South and 20th Street East.
In a news release, officers wrote they had “learned that the victim had been walking in the area when several persons that he did not know approached him and began stabbing and bear-spraying him.”

Paramedics brought him to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Video evidence of the incident show three people the police are looking for.

- Adult male; approximately 5’8” in height, wearing a black hat, black jacket with white sleeves and black symbols, light purple hoodie, black sweat pants with a logo on the left thigh, black shoes, a backpack, and walking a mountain bike.
- Adult male; approximately 6’0” in height, wearing a black hat with a white logo, black jacket, white hoodie with a large red logo, black pants, white Nike shoes with white laces on one foot and black laces on the other.
- Adult male wearing a black hat, a black jacket with a white pattern, a white shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a black backpack.
White Toyota Tundra – police are asking for the driver whom the victim has asked to call the police to come forward and speak with them. “This driver may have witnessed the incident and be able to provide information or additional video evidence to assist in the investigation.”
