Meteorologist Shannon Moodie said it comes as a trough of low-pressure air is lingering over much of the province.
“That’s bringing a lot of showers to the area, but there will be persistent showers through today and tonight, specifically for southeastern Saskatchewan,” she said.
Moodie said about five millimetres of rain is expected in the Queen City and Southeast Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
More is expected near the Manitoba border, with up to 10 millimetres of rain expected.
“We’re not really expecting anything too notable in regards to amounts, specifically and through southeastern Saskatchewan, including Regina,” Moodie said.
Moodie said there is not a lot of rain in the forecast for northern Saskatchewan.
The meteorologist said temperatures should be warming up again a bit later into the week in Regina.
“It looks like Thursday is going to be quite nice, with a high of 18 C and just a mix of sun and cloud, and then things will cool down a little bit,” Moodie said.
“But come Sunday, it looks like temperatures are rebounding to be quite warm and heading into the 20s.”
In Saskatoon, temperatures are also expected to rebound on Thursday, then remain at or around 20 C through the weekend.
