“Investigation determined a male approached a vehicle parked outside a business on Sturgeon Lake First Nation, struck the vehicle with an object, then engaged in a verbal altercation with the owner. He then fled in a white car which had other occupants inside,” the RCMP explained in a statement.
Police located the vehicle, but the RCMP said the driver fled when the officers activated their lights and attempted to make a traffic stop.
“Shortly after, the car was located at the intersection of Bison Trail and Sturgeon Lake Road. The suspect car drove towards police, striking the side of the police vehicle, before fleeing at a high rate of speed,” the RCMP said.
The officer who was driving was unhurt, but the police vehicle was damaged.
Police asked the public to keep an eye out for the four-door 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, which is hand-painted white and carries the Saskatchewan plate 635 NUF.
Anyone who spots the car, or who has information about the incident, was asked to contact the Prince Albert RCMP detachment. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers, the RCMP added.
