Editor’s note: According to an RCMP release on July 31, Delbert Nanaquetung was arrested on June 17 on Fishing Lake First Nation and appeared in court in Wadena on June 19.
An inmate has “walked away” from a prison near Yorkton, according to Yorkton RCMP.
The 35-year-old was last seen at the White Spruce Training Centre just before 9 p.m. on Saturday.
RCMP are asking anyone who has information about Delbert Nanaquetung to contact them as he is unlawfully at large.

Police now have a warrant out for his arrest, and he is known to frequent the Wadena and Fishing Lake First Nation areas.
Nanaquetung is described as:
- 5’10”
- 140 lbs.
- black hair
- brown eyes.
According to the news release, “He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black Nike shoes with a white logo.”
