A 29-year-old woman was hospitalized early on Monday morning after she was allegedly stabbed with a machete inside a suite on Avenue X South.
According to police, officers were called to the suite in the city’s Meadowgreen neighbourhood at around 2:20 a.m. When they arrived, the officers found the 29-year-old woman with serious injuries, and a 55-year-old woman inside the suite was taken into custody.

No charges have been laid, but police said the case is under investigation by the police force’s Serious Assault Unit.
The victim of the alleged attack is in stable condition after she was taken to the hospital for treatment, the police service noted.
