RCMP lay charges in Pelican Lake First Nation 24-year-old’s death

Pelican Lake First Nation had Spiritwood RCMP and EMS responding to an assault call on Monday.

According to police, it ended with a 24-year-old man from the First Nation being pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

RCMP has charged a 20-year-old woman from Pelican Lake First Nation and believes the two knew each other.

The First Nation is located 53 kilometres North-West of Spiritwood.

In a news release officers said, “She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on November 27, 2024.”
