Cops seize car, cocaine, counterfeit cash during Saskatoon drug bust

Police in Saskatoon seized a vehicle, more than a kilogram of cocaine, counterfeit cash and more during a drug investigation this week.

According to police, officers with the Saskatoon Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team executed two search warrants at a vehicle and home on Assiniboine Drive just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old man was arrested, and police say he now faces seven criminal charges related to drugs, weapons and counterfeit items.

During the searches, the officers seized:

• a 2015 Hyndai Santa Fe;
• three cell phones;
• counterfeit currency in $100 denominations;
• $6,390 in cash;
• 1,117 grams of cocaine;
• 168 grams of crack cocaine;
• drug packaging material;
• two digital scales;
• a cutting agent used to dilute drugs before sale; and
• a machete.

Police said the 30-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
