According to preliminary figures from Environment Canada, Sunday marked the hottest September 8 on record in 13 communities around the province:
More heat records could fall on Monday, as the hot temperatures continue across much of Saskatchewan before moderating as the week continues.
The Saskatoon area is expected to reach 32 C on Monday, according to Environment Canada’s forecast, while the Regina area is expected to reach 35 C.
