Saskatchewan gaming website PlayNow is asking all of its users to update their passwords on their accounts as a precautionary measure after what it calls a “recent incident.”
The company didn’t specify what happened other than say it involved stolen passwords from other company sites, and that it impacted a small percentage of its account base.
“This is a deeply concerning incident and a cautionary tale for everyone with multiple online accounts,” said Pat Davis, president and CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

“Our investigation remains ongoing, and we have found no evidence that our systems have been compromised, or that player login information was stolen from our systems.”
PlayNow said it has notified its users whose accounts were impacted by the incident.
PlayNow is a sports gambling website operated by the BCLC. It was launched in Saskatchewan in Nov. 2022 and is the only legally regulated site in Saskatchewan.
