A workplace injury in 2022 led to a $65,000 fine for a Saskatchewan company this month.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, St. Brieux-based Bourgault Industries Ltd. – operating as Highline Manufacturing Ltd. – was fined $46,428.57 along with a surcharge of $18,571.43 after pleading guilty to contravening a section of Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Vonda, Saskatchewan in June of 2022. According to the ministry, a worker was seriously hurt “while flushing highly flammable solvent through an electrostatic paint gun.”
Two further charges were withdrawn by the court following the guilty plea.
