Saskatchewan is in its Taylor Swift era, as the #BacktoSaskatch campaign takes over.
The team at Cedar Creek Gardens wanted to join in the fun, entering their ‘corn era.’
They added a Taylor Swift component to its annual corn maze.
Taylor Crassweller, self-proclaimed “imagineer” at Cedar Creek Gardens said the whole staff was behind the idea.
“We thought it was a cool opportunity to do something big that would get noticed,” he said.
“Everyone was on board and everyone is excited for the chance that maybe we reach Taylor and she comes back for another concert.”
The last time Swift performed in Saskatchewan was in 2009 at the Craven Country Jamboree, now known as Country Thunder Saskatchewan.

The corn maze has a different theme every year.
“This year we saw the #BacktoSaskatch movement was going on and we thought well we could do something along those lines,” he said.
“I figured I would just keep it simple and cut the hashtag and then put my own little twist on it with the ‘Corn Era Tour’ and threw a microphone in. We just wanted to contribute to that movement in our own little way.”
The whole maze won’t be Swift-themed, but Crassweller said more components will be added.
“There might be a few little hidden Easter eggs for the Taylor Swift stuff but the rest of the maze itself will be a different theme,” he said.
Taylor Swift is a big fan of putting hidden messages in her songs and various eras.

The grand opening of the maze is set for sometime in August.
“It depends on weather,” Crassweller said. “I’m thinking with the weather that we’ve having it’ll be more closer to the middle of August.”
Being surrounded by three sisters and an almost entire female staff, Crassweller said there are lots of Swifties at Cedar Creek Gardens.
He’s optimistic that the ‘Shake it off’ singer will notice the campaign.
“I think the movement’s been doing a lot and a lot of different things are happening,” he said.
“I’m optimistic if we get enough people behind it that she’ll see it and she’ll find it in her heart to give us another show.”
