A pair of bike thieves stabbed a man in downtown Saskatoon on Canada Day.
According to police, officers were flagged down by bystanders at Second Avenue South and 20th Street East at 12:20 a.m., where they found the injured victim.
“He explained he was stabbed by a female and male trying to steal his bike,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement. “The victim was transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

The female suspect was described as approximately 25 years old, police said, with tattoos on her hands and one of her eyebrows, brown hair, white pants and a dark windbreaker jacket. The male suspect was six feet tall with an average build and short hair.
Police said the alleged attack is under investigation by the Serious Assault Unit.
Man stabbed on Broadway Avenue
On Tuesday, police responded to another stabbing.
In this case, police were called to the 1100 block of Broadway Avenue after getting reports of an injured person.
“Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing,” police said. “The victim was transported to hospital by paramedics with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.”
That case is also under investigation, and police said more details will be shared as information becomes available.
