Brianna Hayes is being remembered by her community as a beautiful young woman and a hard-working mother of three.
Last week, on April 25, the 28-year-old’s body was discovered in the rural municipality of Moose Mountain.
The RCMP has not released how Hayes died but charged 24-year-old Taylor Japp of Oxbow with second degree murder. Japp is to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday.
Another man charged in the case, Tyler Shaw of Gainsborough, made his first court appearance Friday. He is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Hayes’ family with funeral costs and other expenses needed at this time. Words of support shared on the website describe Hayes as a hard-working and loving mother, who was always trying to better herself for her kids.
The online fundraiser had brought in more than $9,500 as of Saturday morning.
Anyone with information about the murder — or anyone who may have interacted with Hayes between Monday and Wednesday — is asked to call Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes at 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
