A 32-year-old man from the Ochapowace First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder after a death on that First Nation just east of Regina on Saturday.
In a media release Monday, the RCMP said Dustyn Allary had been charged in connection with the death of 32-year-old Elias Still of the Ochapowace First Nation.
Police said officers from the Broadview detachment responded at around 6:45 a.m. to a call about helping EMS at a house in the community.
When officers arrived, they found Still injured inside the house. He subsequently was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“The death was considered suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation,” the Mounties said in the release.
The RCMP didn’t elaborate on the nature of Still’s injuries.
Allary was arrested and charged at the scene. He was to make his first court appearance Monday in Yorkton.
