A major curling event is coming to the Bridge City.
Saskatoon’s Nutana Curling Club is set to host the Canadian under-18 curling championships in 2025. According to Curling Canada, the event will be held from Feb. 16-22, with 21 male and 21 female teams from across Canada competing for top honours.
It will be the first time Saskatoon has hosted the event, and Mayor Charlie Clark said it’ll be a big event for the city’s curling clubs.
“Our local clubs have done a fantastic job to grow and attract the best curlers in the game and this event will welcome the best upcoming players across the country to our city,” Clark said in a statement.
“This event will be a great opportunity to showcase our local curling culture, history, and our city as a whole.”

The championships will be the first exposure to national-level competition for many of the young curlers, but a significant number of previous players at the event have gone on to success at the under-21 level and even joined some of Canada’s top-performing teams.
“Since we introduced the Canadian Under-18 Championships in 2017, it has become one of most popular and eagerly anticipated events on our competitive calendar, as well as a crucial piece of our High Performance athlete development program,” Curling Canada CEO Nolan Thiessen said in a statement.
“Saskatoon has proven time and time again that it knows how to put on amazing curling events, and we know that players, coaches and fans will have a memorable experience in 2025.”
Kory Kohuch, general manager of the Nutana Curling Club, said there’s a lot of planning and preparation underway ahead of the event.
“We have a lot of work to do to get ready, but we have a great base of members who want to put on a first-class show in 2025,” Kohuch said in a statement.
“We’re proud that Curling Canada has shown its faith in us to host a major event such as this, and we are ready to make the 2025 Canadian Under-18 Championships a special time for players, family members, coaches and fans.”
