8:30 – The spring sitting of the legislature kicked off yesterday. Carla Beck, leader of the Saskatchewan NDP, joins Evan to discuss the priorities of the official opposition over the next 10 weeks.
9:00 – Urban municipalities are concerned after learning the federal government is proposing changes to the Canada Community Building Fund (CCBF), formerly known as the Gas Tax. The changes would require larger municipalities to place more emphasis on using funding for affordable housing and increasing their reporting to be eligible for these funds. Joining Evan to explain why this is problematic is Randy Goulden, president of the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association.
9:30 – The recent snowstorm led to many highways right across the province becoming nearly impassable. Tom Lees, Assistant Deputy Minister of Operations and Maintenance with the Ministry of Highways, joins Evan to discuss the logistics of snow removal on such a massive scale.
10:00 – A new study from the United States is suggesting that the concept of fatherhood might be more appealing than motherhood. The study suggests that more men want children than women. That’s not an entirely new finding, however, according to Marina Adshade with the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver School of Economics. She joins Evan to discuss the study.
