A boarded-up home in Saskatoon’s Westmount neighbourhood went up in flames early Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called to the 200 block of Avenue K North just after 4:30 a.m. after someone reported smoke coming from the home.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, flames were first found coming from the basement and by 5:23 a.m. the fire had spread to the main floor and attic.

As of 8:30 a.m., crews were still on the scene trying to extinguish the blaze.
“Extremely cold weather conditions have been challenging for fire crews and equipment,” the fire department noted in a statement.
A cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation into the cause is underway.
Firefighters asked the public to avoid the area.
