An Alberta-based well service company was ordered to pay $65,000 after an incident where a worker was seriously hurt near Elrose.
According to Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, WSK Well Service Inc. was hit with a $46,228.57 fine and an $18,571.43 surcharge after pleading guilty to violating Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations in a Rosetown courtroom this month.
One other charge was stayed by the court.

The charges stemmed from a workplace injury that happened near Elrose on Jan. 18, 2022. The worker, the ministry explained, suffered serious injuries after being struck by a rod.
Elrose is located south of Rosetown on Highway 4.
